I had my painter, David, come out to take a look at the progress on the bodywork. The idea is to make sure we've got the metal as close as necessary to minimize the use of filler. Overall, he was impressed with Tyler's work but wanted more attention paid to the hood, roof, and deck lid.

A lot of work went into getting the hood straight in metal. There were oil-canning issues and a lost body line in the middle, etc. |
Therefore, Tyler spent another week on those areas, as well as on final finish and fitment on the bumpers. And that's it -- the car was ready to come home.
Now it is in my garage and in my court. I need to relocate the BMS to rear of the car, fix/finish all the wiring, install the HVAC stuff, and generally get out any bugs before I tear it all apart for paint.

Deck lid also needed a lot of work |

Made sure the 2000 CS rear bumper fits the body perfectly. |
|
Early 2000 CS style rear bumper (I'll do a post on the differences between the early and late style some other day) |

The sunroof fits the roof really well now |
|
The custom front bumper fits well and looks clean |
|
All the welds on the bumper have been cleaned up and ready for chrome plating |
|
More sunroof fit work on the roof |
|
The rocker trim is straight, clean, and ready for chrome also |
